The Sultan’s Secret Door Adelaide Fringe 2017

CELEBRATING OUR SELLOUT FRINGE SHOW ‘THE SULTAN’S SECRET DOOR’

Belly Dance Amethyst’s Adelaide Fringe production ‘The Sultan’s Secret Door’ was a sellout and all-round huge success!

Some reviews from the night:

“Your show was excellent. We enjoyed it very much, thank you. Your costumes were fantastic. You are the best belly dancers in Australia. God bless you” – Stephen Nikolaidis, President of the Constantinople Society of South Australia

“It was fantastic! You promoted Turkish culture, music and richness of our heritage. Congratulations. I am proud of you” – T. Ayşen Kaplan, President of the Turkish Association of South Australia

“It was beautiful, congratulations! Also, beautiful music and costumes” – Çağlar Bengihan of Ottoman Trading Co

“Brilliant performances! Loved every minute of it” – Sharon Lang

“Congratulations to everyone involved. It was a wonderful show incandescent and beautiful and we loved it!” – Trisha Paua Blu

The show was inspired by the harem of the great Ottoman Empire. The imperial harem played a crucial role in the empire’s history. Women from many different parts of the world comprised its multi-ethnic nature.

‘The Sultan’s Secret Door’ took viewers on a journey of the mysterious and powerful Ottoman harem through exhilarating traditional and contemporary Middle Eastern music and dance.

We thank everyone for coming to our show. We look forward to spreading more of our love of Middle Eastern dance, music and culture with our upcoming shows.
